With temperatures as high as 21 degrees in December, the winter sun doesn’t get much better than in Tenerife. The largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, Tenerife has plenty of golf resorts and golf courses to offer.
The 5* Melia Haciende del Conde boasts a rural location in Northern Tenerife with sea and mountain views, and golf on-site at the Seve Ballesteros designed Buenavista Golf Club (one of our favourite golf courses in Tenerife). Melia Haciende del Conde is home to an award-winning spa
Hotel las Madrigueras in Tenerife is another luxurious, 5* golf and spa resort, situated between the popular resorts of Las Americas and Los Cristianos. The hotel has a range of superior rooms and suites, with an award-winning restaurant on-site. The nearest golf club is Las Americas Golf Club, which provides free golf buggies for those staying at Hotel Las Madrigueras.

With sunny, mild winters, Costa Navarino in Greece is an excellent travel destination during October and November.
We recommend staying in the 5* Westin Resort or 5* Romanos, Luxury Collection Resort. The Westin Resort is a luxury hotel which even offers the option to upgrade your room to feature a private, swim-up pool. The resort also has a library, a rustic lounge and extensive outdoor seating areas providing plenty of picturesque spots to relax while appreciating some of the best views in Greece.
The Romanos, Luxury Collection Resort, is a Golf Travel People favourite, with rooms overlooking the ocean or the fairways of the Costa Navarino Dunes Golf Course. This luxury hotel has won several prestigious awards over the years and features several high-quality restaurants and a spa.
Both based at Costa Navarino Golf Course, The Dunes and the Bay Course both offer spectacular views of Navarino Bay. The Bay Course is slightly tougher than The Dunes Course, but both have unique qualities which guarantee an excellent game of golf.
When you’re not enjoying the spa or playing golf, we recommend visiting the horseshoe-shaped Voidokilia beach or booking a traditional Messinian cooking lesson in a local, village home.
The Westin Resort, Costa Navarino, Greece
Last but not least, Gran Canaria offers a pleasurably warm climate during the winter months with average temperatures of 19 degrees in December.
The Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia is a superb 5* resort based in the popular Maspalomas area. The hotel has two fantastic restaurants on-site, and a great choice of local golf courses nearby, including Maspalomas Golf Course and the Salobre Golf Sur (old course).
When you’re not relaxing in your resort or playing a tense game of golf, we recommend visiting the historic, cobbled streets of Vegueta and the valley of Guayadeque. Some of Guayadeque’s caves have even been turned into little bistros serving delicious tapas dishes.
