Learning to play golf can be a tricky experience in your own country – sometimes battling bad weather, obstructive club members & committees and expensive lessons – so perhaps a better way to learn this great game is to book a golf holiday where you can engage the services of the golf resort’s own PGA professional to give you some lessons out in the sunshine on the driving range, short game area, putting green and subsequently a playing lesson out on the course at a quiet time of the day.
Most of the holiday golf courses we feature do offer the services of teaching professionals, so a golf holiday as a beginner or new starter to the game of golf need not be an expensive or difficult experience.
The Golf Travel People can certainly recommend some suitable venues for you if you are a new starter at golf, so do let us know your requirements, budget and time of year that you wish to travel and we will be really pleased to put together some great value deals for you. Whether you just want to hide yourself away in a corner of the driving range and quietly practice, practice, practice or if you want to engage the services of the club’s PGA professional for some one-to-one lessons, or if you want to join a larger sociable group for one of our group tuition holidays here at The Golf Travel People we are certain to have a great solution to your beginners golf tuition experience…
Check out the range of suggested options below for our recommendations that offer great practice facilities and PGA qualified golf tutors.

Most beginner golfers tend not to want to spend too much on a golf holiday until they are sure that they are going to enjoy the game. Therefore some of our lower cost golf resorts in some excellent destinations are probably the best suited to cater for the requirements of golfing beginners. Check out the suggested resorts above to see what options may be available to you at great prices! Not only do they all offer low prices, but they also all offer excellent practice facilities and have all been previous venues of residential tuition holidays.
Obviously the easier the golf course, then the better experience a novice player will have making their golf holiday more enjoyable. However, some beginners are masochists and want to play more challenging golf courses - even though their golfing skills may not be up to the challenge yet! Of course, its up to you where you play and providing you can fulfil any handicap requirements you are free to play whichever golf courses you prefer, but as a rule of thumb golf courses that are flatter, shorter and with wider fairways will generally be suited to novice golfers and The Golf Travel People team will be happy to make recommendations on this for you - so feel free to get in touch.
No - most golf courses that we offer will offer a rental service for club hire, but this does come with a few issues in terms of cost and quality of the rental equipment. Therefore most golfers - novice, intermediate or expert - will prefer to use their own golf clubs or at least rent a higher quality set of golf clubs from one of the airport or delivery golf club rental companies. That way, even if you play at a range of different golf courses during your golf holiday for beginners, you will always be using the same set of golf clubs during your stay and not waste time, effort and energy having to get used to a different set of golf clubs before and during each of your rounds of golf.
Pretty much any golf course or golf club that has a resident PGA Professional will offer golf lessons for beginners - either as part of a small group of golfers of similar standard, or private 1-to-1 lessons where you and the professional work closely together to fine-tune your game and hone your golfing skills. If the golf course you choose for your beginners golf holiday doesn't have a resident PGA Professional then it is generally acceptable to attend the golf course with your chosen PGA Pro from another course or your home club, and subject to a small fee the PGA Pro will be able to teach you using their facilities.
In our view, the very best way to get started to pay golf is to use your local golf club at home to enjoy a few lessons, and once you know that you are hooked on this great game, then follow that by attending one of our residential tuition trips operated by our resident PGA Pro Stuart Smith. You'll be sure to find these holidays a great way to meet like-minded beginners and intermediate golfers who are all determined to improve their golf alongside getting the sun on their backs and enjoying some good social times!
