Overview
Capdepera Golf Club is a beautifully designed 18-hole course located in Mallorca’s peaceful north-east region, between the medieval town of Capdepera and the coast at Cala Ratjada. Opened in 1989, it was designed by American golf architect Dan Maples, who created a course that blends seamlessly with the surrounding hills, valleys and Mediterranean countryside.
The layout flows naturally through a quiet rural valley surrounded by almond trees, carob groves and pine-covered hills. The first few holes meander gently through wide fairways, inviting confident tee shots and comfortable play, while the course gradually builds in elevation and challenge as players approach the back nine. The closing holes climb into the foothills of the Llevant mountains, culminating in one of the most breathtaking finishing holes in Mallorca — the signature 15th, perched high above the landscape, offering panoramic views over the island and out to sea.
The design of Capdepera Golf emphasizes balance and fairness: it’s neither overly long nor punishing but asks players to think strategically, shaping shots to match the natural contours. The greens are known for being smooth, consistent and surrounded by subtle mounding and bunkers that reward precision. With six lakes and a variety of elevation changes, the course offers variety and visual appeal without ever feeling contrived.
The clubhouse, styled in traditional Mallorcan stone, is set at the foot of the course with sweeping views across the valley. Its restaurant terrace is one of the most charming on the island — a favourite spot among golfers and non-golfers alike for enjoying lunch or a drink after a round. The atmosphere throughout is relaxed, welcoming and unpretentious, with a focus on genuine hospitality rather than formality.
Capdepera is especially popular with visiting golfers looking for a tranquil, scenic course that combines excellent conditioning, memorable holes and the calm of Mallorca’s north-east. It’s the perfect choice for those who enjoy natural surroundings and intelligent course design rather than pure resort golf.
