Situated a 15-minute drive from Santa Cruz, The Royal Golf Club of Tenerife is one of Spain’s oldest courses, founded in 1932. The profound history of the club not only attracts plenty of visitors from outside Spain but also many residents from the mainland.
Real Club de Golf de Tenerife has hosted several Spanish Professional tournaments which has included victories from Seve Ballesteros and Miguel Angel Jimenez over the years.
The 18-hole, par 70 is a classic parkland course featuring natural water hazards, undulating fairways, well protected greens and ravines, in scenic forest surroundings with panoramic views.
Golfers get the chance to find their game over the first 9 holes with a few narrow fairways to master off the tee. The climb up the 10th makes the back 9 slightly longer with several water hazards and canyons to contend with. However, don’t let the difficulties of the back 9 put you off from the magnificent views of Mount Teide.
Club facilities include a driving range, putting and pitching greens along with a clubhouse restaurant.
The club offers a warm welcome to all visitors, and unlike many Royal Clubs offers the same rates during the weekend as the rest of the week.
Whether you are staying in the local town or looking for an enjoyable day out from the south, for a mix of tradition, challenge, and beautiful landscapes, Real Club de Golf de Tenerife is a great addition to your itinerary.
