Situated 10 km away from the historical town of Silves with its famous Moorish castle, Pestana Silves Golf Club is an Algarve golf gem and well worth a look for a great warm up round on your golf holiday in Portugal.
The course lies in a serene spot at the foot of the Monchique mountain, with most holes offering spectacular mountain views with palm trees and olive groves surrounded by cork and citrus farms generating a true feeling of authentic Portuguese golf.
Despite its scenic setting and relatively flat, walkable terrain, this course is anything but ‘a walk in the park’! Accuracy matters here, even on the opening hole you are faced with some challenges, notably water on both flanks. Water features continue to challenge throughout the course along with strategic bunkering and holes that entice risk-and-reward decisions.
This course is for players – low handicaps will find it a serious challenge to come in under par – but higher handicap players (with concentration) will be able to enjoy their round!
Practice facilities include a driving range. short game area and putting greens.
The Silves Clubhouse offers a full complement of services including a restaurant and bar with beautiful views to the fairways of the 1st and 2nd hole.
