Zagaleta Golf Club lies within a 900-hectare private estate of Mediterranean forests, hills, and wildlife, in Benahavís, just 10–15 mins from Marbella.
The club boasts two courses (the Old and New Courses) The Old Course is a strictly members only course, but guests are invited to play the stunning par 70, New Course, but this does not mean it is second-best to the Old Course; in fact – quite the contrary – as the New Course is one of southern Spain’s finest golf challenges!
Opened in 2005, with a design by Steve Marnoch, the New Course is a classic parkland mountain course with dramatic elevation changes, seamlessly blending within the beauty of its peaceful, natural environment. It is a playful 18-hole challenge, full of wonderful obstacles and sharp dog legs to overcome, where you are met with unforgettable sights along the way. Here it is essential to put the ball on the fairway from the tee and then face medium to short distance shots to some small but undulating greens. It is not a long course but very technical where the risk/reward strategy is present in many of its holes.
