Nestled on the Eastern Algarve coast, the spectacular Quinta da Ria golf resort lies within the Ria Formosa Natural Park, spreading along a gently undulating piece of prime golfing land, with rugged scenery, orange groves, vineyards and stunning mountain and sea views, down to the Ria Formosa itself.
Quinta da Ria really is a place of true natural beauty; there is no real estate construction (apart from the Robinson Club Quinta da Ria hotel). More than 300 trees, such as olive and carob trees have been transplanted to maintain the ancient border of the course and the typical features of the regions landscape. This has given the look and feel of a course which has been established for many years.
The acclaimed 18-hole, par 72, Ria course is generally considered to be a gentler challenge than its big brother Quinta de Cima – but don’t let this fool you into thinking that the Ria course is a pushover, as it certainly is not!
The 6016-metre layout comprises of two loops of 9 holes with each loop having 2 par 5’s, five par 4’s and two par 3’s. Five strategically placed lakes come into play adding challenge and beauty while also aiding irrigation and homing the local birdlife. The greens, smoothly undulating, are well protected by bunkers.
From the very first hole, anticipation stirs. You may think, “This is going to be my best round yet!”, but, as you approach, a formidable bunker looms on the left, eager to test even the steadiest of hands. With each hole, the course unveils new twists and trials, keeping your skills and strategy sharp.
Quinta da Ria is more than just a round of golf, it blends beauty with challenge, keeping you engaged and captivated from start to finish, creating an unforgettable golfing experience.
In addition to the 18-hole Cima Championship Course, Quinta da Ria also boasts a nine-hole academy course, a 300-metre driving range, a performance centre with golf simulator and short game areas. The clubhouse ‘Ria Terrace’ restaurant serves Portuguese dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients alongside more basic snacks.
