Golf Son Termes is one of Mallorca’s most naturally beautiful and authentically Mediterranean golf courses, located just outside the picturesque village of Bunyola, about 10 minutes from Palma. Opened in 1998 and designed by the Harris and José Rodríguez architects team, the 18-hole, par-70 course sits on the edge of the Tramuntana mountains — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape — offering dramatic scenery, challenging elevations and a deep sense of tranquillity.
The course layout is defined by its hillside setting. Fairways weave through olive and carob trees, bordered by dry-stone walls and wild herbs, with stunning views over Palma Bay on one side and the rugged Tramuntana peaks on the other. It’s a course that rewards precision and creativity: shorter than some of Mallorca’s resort layouts, but significantly more technical due to its narrow fairways, elevation changes and undulating greens.
The front nine holes are relatively gentle and open, offering an enjoyable warm-up with wide fairways and generous landing areas. The back nine, however, takes golfers into steeper terrain and tighter spaces, demanding strategic play and precise shot shaping. Several holes are framed by stone terraces and natural rock outcrops, while others feature steep uphill or downhill approaches that add character and challenge.
Son Termes is known for its immaculate maintenance and local atmosphere. Unlike many resort-style courses, it retains a traditional Mallorcan feel — peaceful, unpretentious and surrounded by nature. The greens are fast and true, and the staff are known for their friendliness and attention to detail.
The clubhouse, built in rustic style with stone façades and terracotta details, features a terrace with breathtaking views across the valley. It’s a favourite among local golfers for its warm hospitality, excellent food and relaxed charm. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting and chipping greens, and a small golf academy.
With its mountain views, natural setting and technical layout, Golf Son Termes offers a round that is as scenic as it is satisfying — perfect for golfers who appreciate precision, quiet surroundings and a genuine connection with the landscape.
