This year’s Father’s Day falls on Sunday 17th June 2018 which means there’s only a few weeks until the big day. For many fathers out there, the gift of golf is surely a present that is bound to please. To help, we’ve put together our top 5 father days golf gifts at varying price ranges.
Avoid the temptation this Father’s Day to buy your dad some novelty golf balls with his name or favourite football club badge on. Very often these are cheap and rubbish golf balls that will never see the light of day on a proper golf course. But your dad will still say thanks. If you want to get him something worthwhile but not stupidly expensive you can’t go wrong with a pack of Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls. They are some of the best golf balls you can buy but many golfers will feel a bit guilty about shelling out £37 – £45 for a box!
Again, avoid thinking that any old jumper will do for dad on the golf course. Depending on the weather, the wrong item of clothing can make you too hot or too cold. Whilst you think Marks & Spencer’s “golf range” of jumpers look pretty, really your Dad wants something practical that he will actually wear. Take a look at the range of pullovers Under Armour have on offer. You’re likely to spend £50 to £100 on one but the material will be breathable and weatherproof meaning that it’s been specifically designed for playing golf in.
If your dad is one for a few trips away to play golf at either summer or winter then a golf travel cover could be wise present choice. These bags are usually durable and waterproof and help protect the bag and clubs whilst in transit on buses, taxis, ferries and planes. Most decent travel bags come with pockets for shoes and crucially you want a bag that comes with rollers (carrying a bag of golf clubs around the airport and hotel is hard going!). Decent sized travel covers can cost around £130 – £180.
If you really want to treat your father then you might consider some Galvin Green waterproofs. The brand is synonymous with the highest quality in weatherproof golf clothing. Galvin Greens are a real investment for a golfer as they come with a waterproof promise or your money back. Ideal for golfing fathers who play whatever the weather, some Galvin Green waterproofs is likely to be the best present you could give your dad. Expect to pay around £250 – £450 for trouser and top.
If all else fails and you really want to go all out then when not consider giving your dad a well-deserved golfing holiday abroad. If you’re a golfer as well, why not go with him? Golf de la Luz offer a wide range of golfing holidays that cover every element of the trip so you don’t need to stress about booking. Travel to Spain, Portugal or Turkey this summer and enjoy some of the finest courses, sunshine and hotels that golf has to offer. Find out more on our golf holidays special offers page.
