The course features 27 holes, offering three 9-hole loops that can be played in multiple combinations. Hackett’s minimalist philosophy is evident everywhere — the course feels as though it has always been part of the landscape.
The opening holes introduce gentle contours and sweeping views, but the drama builds as players move deeper into the dunes. Elevated tees reveal vast panoramas over Mannin Bay, while valley fairways twist between rugged mounds and natural ridges. The back nine (on the main 18) is particularly memorable, with holes played directly against the Atlantic coastline, where the wind becomes an ever-present strategic factor.
Signature holes include the par-5 14th, one of the most scenic and challenging holes in the west of Ireland, and the elevated par-3 13th, offering commanding views across the water. The greens are fast, beautifully contoured and exceptionally natural, rewarding imaginative shot-making and links-style creativity.
