Akenza Golf Club is an exciting new golf destination just outside Marrakech, set against the stunning backdrop of the High Atlas Mountains and sweeping natural terrain reminiscent of desert landscapes. The 18-hole, par-72 championship layout challenges golfers with dramatic elevation changes, canyon crossings, dry riverbeds and rugged natural features carved into the foothills of the Atlas. From the back tees the course stretches around 6,536 metres (or approximately 7,150 yards) and includes eight canyon crossings, natural ravines and desert-style hazards that require precision, creativity and courage. The fairways are generous in places, yet the engineered routing demands thoughtful strategy — whether teeing from elevated ridges, navigating blind approach shots or playing into undulating greens set amid natural rock features.
The setting is what makes Akenza truly unique: stark yet beautiful desert terrain, native vegetation, stone escarpments and sweeping views of the Atlas range create a dramatic stage for golf. While the course is clearly designed for championship calibre play, multiple tee options make it accessible for mid-handicap golfers as well.
