Killarney Golf & Fishing Club is one of Ireland’s most iconic golfing destinations, located in the heart of County Kerry’s breathtaking scenery within Killarney National Park. Set along the shores of Lough Leane with the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountain range rising in the distance, the club offers a truly majestic natural backdrop that few golf courses in the world can match. With two championship courses — Killeen and Mahony’s Point — and a rich history of hosting major tournaments, Killarney stands as a pillar of Irish golf excellence.
The Killeen Course, redesigned by Donald Steel, is a championship masterpiece known for its wide fairways, dramatic water holes and beautifully contoured greens. It has hosted multiple Irish Opens, including the victories of Nick Faldo and Ross Fisher, and is consistently regarded as one of Ireland’s finest parkland layouts. The lakeside holes are particularly spectacular, with water framing approaches and the mountains creating unforgettable panoramas.
Mahony’s Point, the club’s older and more traditional course, offers a slightly gentler challenge but equally incredible scenery. Its routing takes players closer to Lough Leane, culminating in the famous 18th hole — “Heaven’s Reflex” — one of the most photographed finishing holes in Ireland, played directly alongside the water with a mountain backdrop that is nothing short of breathtaking.
The courses are maintained to pristine standards, with fast greens, beautifully presented fairways and a layout that suits golfers of all abilities. The combination of mature woodland, lake shores, rolling terrain and distant peaks creates a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere that defines the experience at Killarney.
The clubhouse is warm, refined and spacious, offering excellent dining, panoramic views and the welcoming hospitality that County Kerry is known for. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting greens and short-game areas, giving golfers the opportunity to fully prepare before taking on either course.
Killarney Golf & Fishing Club is more than a golf venue — it is an iconic Irish landscape, a championship venue and a place where natural beauty and exceptional design come together to create a once-in-a-lifetime golf experience.
