Girona, Costa Brava
Camiral, Girona. Next mainland European Ryder Cup host venue.
Stadium and Tour courses on the same site, two hotels (five-star Camiral + four-star la Vida), and the Costa Brava beyond. The next Ryder Cup host, ninety minutes north of Barcelona.
The destination
The Ryder Cup is coming to Catalunya.
Camiral, formerly PGA Catalunya, will host the Ryder Cup in 2031. Five years out, the resort is already booking through 2027. The case for going now is the same as the case for going in 2030: it’s one of Spain’s best golf resorts.
The Stadium course is the headline. Built by Neil Coles and Angel Gallardo, opened 1999, and consistently ranked Top 3 in Spain. The routing weaves through mature pine and cork forest with elevation changes that make it feel more like an Algarve mountain course than a Costa Brava layout.
The Tour course is the companion. Shorter, more forgiving, easier walking. Most UK groups play both during a week. The walking-to-cart ratio is genuinely flexible — Stadium is a buggy course, Tour walks comfortably.
Two hotels on the resort cover different categories. The five-star Camiral Hotel (recently rebranded, Leading Hotels of the World) is the premium option. The four-star Hotel la Vida is the alternative, with apartment-style rooms and self-catering options for groups. Both are walking distance to the first tees.
How to package it
Pick the hotel, play both courses.
Default week is two rounds on Stadium, one on Tour, in whichever hotel suits your group.
