Chaparral sits between Fuengirola and Marbella, on the inland edge of Mijas Costa. It’s hilly enough that buggies are compulsory (and included), conditioned well enough that you’ll play it on rain-soaked days, and quiet enough that you’ll get round in four hours.
The Costa del Sol has fifty golf courses within a thirty mile stretch of coast. The trade-off is choice versus crowd. The famous names (Valderrama, La Reserva, Real Sotogrande) come with pace-of-play and booking-window questions. The headline resorts (La Cala, Marbella Club, Los Naranjos) get full mid-summer.
Chaparral solves that. It is the course travelling golfers come back to when they’ve done the big names once and want a week where they actually play golf instead of waiting for the group ahead. The Pino Domingo routing is short by Costa del Sol standards, hilly and well-bunkered, forgiving off the tee. Greens roll true. Conditioning is genuinely year-round. Buggies are compulsory, included in the green fee, and frankly a relief on the up-hill stretches.
Because Chaparral sits on the inland edge of Mijas Costa, the hotel options are everything from the Hilton Mijas to the Fuengirola beach resorts to the Marbella five-stars. We build the package around your group’s budget and pair Chaparral with one or two more courses to round out the week. The thirty mile coastal strip means you can play Chaparral, La Cala, Real Club Mijas and El Higueral all from the same hotel.
