Overview
Golf Son Muntaner is one of Mallorca’s most prestigious and beautifully maintained golf courses, located just minutes from Palma within the lush Son Vida estate. Opened in 2000 and part of the renowned Arabella Golf group, it stands as a true championship venue — refined, challenging, and exceptionally scenic. Designed by Kurt Rossknecht, the 18-hole, par-72 course flows through rolling terrain surrounded by mature pines, olive trees, and the striking backdrop of the Tramuntana mountains.
The course layout has been crafted to test both precision and strategy. Its fairways vary between wide, inviting corridors and tighter, tree-lined stretches that require careful shot placement. Elevated tees, subtly contoured greens, and perfectly positioned bunkers create a layout that’s visually captivating and technically rewarding. Water hazards add further character, particularly on the par-4 2nd and par-5 13th holes, while the immaculate greens — among the best on the island — roll fast and true year-round.
Golf Son Muntaner underwent a complete renovation in 2016, during which the greens, fairways and bunkers were reconstructed to meet modern championship standards. It is the first golf course in Spain to achieve the prestigious Audubon International Gold Signature Sanctuary certification, a recognition of its exceptional sustainability and environmental care.
The signature hole is arguably the par-5 6th, played downhill with panoramic views, but many golfers also remember the par-4 15th for its demanding tee shot and well-guarded green. Throughout the round, players encounter both beauty and challenge — every hole has been shaped to feel natural yet purposeful.
The course is complemented by one of the finest practice facilities in Mallorca, including a large two-tier driving range, short-game area, and multiple putting greens shared with the neighbouring Son Vida and Son Quint courses. The modern clubhouse features a stylish restaurant, terrace, and pro shop overlooking the course.
Golf Son Muntaner regularly hosts international tournaments and is widely considered the flagship course of the Arabella Golf group, offering a refined golfing experience that balances elegance, difficulty, and natural harmony.
